Inside of the CIT network, stargate may be accessed using the windows share method, or using FTP. The required user name and pass word must be obtained through class.
Outside of the campus network, only non-passive FTP access is allowed. Whether using Internet Explorer or any other FTP client software package, it must be configured correctly to work when off campus. Passive FTP mode must be disabled for correct operation.
How to disable passive mode for Internet Explorer
- Open Internet Explorer
- Under the "Tools" menu, open "Internet Options"
- Select the "Advanced" Tab
- Find "Use Passive FTP (for firewall and DSL modem compatibility)", about half way down the list of options
- Uncheck this option
- "Apply" and "OK"
