For OS X users, follow these steps:
- Exit from Illustrator
- Remote login to uranus.cs.dixie.edu.
- Run the command "/usr/local/bin/dsc_fix_illustrator.pl"
- Logout from uranus.
- Start Illustrator
- You can ignore the [PARM] error message if it appears.
For windows users, Illustrator will not work if the user does not have access to the specified scratch space. The default setup does not work. Fix the problem with these steps:
- Start Illustrator
- Start "New Document"
- Under the "Edit" menu, select "Preferences->Plug-ins & Scratch Disks"
- Under "Scratch Disks" select "Startup" in the "Primary" option menu.
- Choose "OK" on the right hand side list of buttons.
- Exit Illustrator, and start it up again.
